What do you do when you get into the bathroom to brush your teeth and discover the toothpaste is finished while taking into consideration the fact that you had to squeeze the tube the last time to get something to brush and shops will not be opening soon.
Here are 5 practical things you can do.
- Cut the toothpaste tube into two using a clean pair of scissors/knife: This method has been saving families since ‘forever’. Not only will you be able to scoop out some paste to brush, you’ll also have some left over to brush at night or till you are able to buy another paste.
- Use of Cooking Salt: Put some salt (cooking salt) on your wet brush. Voila! You are good to go. This might not give you the same minty taste the toothpaste gives however, it is a good substitute.
- Baking soda: Add little water to baking soda and mix to give a paste. Apply this on your toothbrush and brush your teeth. Baking soda does a great job cleaning the teeth. You can also combine baking soda with salt.
- Coconut oil: this is another option to explore. Coconut oil has antibacterial and antifungal properties. You can also combine it with baking soda.
- Your Toothbrush alone:If you do not have access to any of the options mentioned above, simply wet your brush with water and use it to brush your teeth. In reality, it is your toothbrush that gets dirt off your teeth and not the toothpaste.
Don’t let toothpaste be your excuse for not brushing.
