Dentists recommend you brush your teeth at the end of each day before going to bed. This is because food debris settles at the inner parts of the teeth and cheek which often gives off bad odour if left for too long. Also, brushing the teeth gets rid of sugar left on the teeth thereby depriving the bacteria which causes tooth decay food.
Brushing at night could be a real struggle especially if you’ve had a very busy day. Most people just want to eat and jump off to bed; however, if you want the best for your teeth, gums and mouth, you will need to create a ‘brushing before bed‘ time.
Aside from the oral health benefits of brushing the teeth before going to bed, it also contributes positively to your general well being. To this effect, I will like to invite you to take part in a little exercise:
- Brush your teeth before going to bed this night and
- Share your experience on waking up.
Let us know if you feel any different or you feel the same as when you didn’t brush before going to bed. I’ll be waiting to read your comments.
