Why food packs in between your Teeth

Having strands of meat stuck in between the teeth occasionally is no big deal; however, it could be quite frustrating when one has to pick the teeth regularly regardless of what type of food is eaten.

People who use toothpicks regularly tend to have a wider space between their teeth. The major cause of this is the frequent use of wooden toothpicks. Under normal circumstances, the space between the teeth should not accommodate a toothpick. However, regular use of toothpicks leads to widening of the space(pocket) which then leads to more food packing in between the teeth.

The long term effect of this is pain with eventual tooth loss.

How to prevent food packing in between the teeth
1. Stop the use of wooden toothpicks.
2. Use the dental floss: dental floss is easy to use, it removes food particles stuck between the teeth fast and does not not cause any harm to the teeth or gums.
3. Visit your dentist regularly.
4. Maintain a good dental hygiene.
